The first edition of TAM Talks, a motivational and mentorship forum hosted by the Kenya Cultural Centre was held earlier today. The panelists were drawn from a wide range of artistic fields such as theatre, poetry and spoken word, photography and music. Other invited speakers were: Linda Muthama (musician and music educator), Dr Zipporah Okoth (drama, dance and theatre), Roy Gitahi (chair-Wabunii SACCO for creative) and Kennet B (poet and Slam Africa winner). The event was also attended by Nicholas ole Moipei, the chair of the Kenya Cultural Centre’s governing council, CEO Edwin Gichangi and other members of the board. In their remarks they reaffirmed the audience to the commitment towards growing Kenya’s creative economy.
TAM Talks is a new initiative by the Kenya Cultural Centre and it will be happening every first Saturday of the month. This event is meant to create an interactive forum between creative industry leaders and upcoming creatives and artists. In return this will nurture talent by improving artistic skills and increasing confidence among creative.
